I’m still an idiot when it comes to racism, obviously, so it’s so very important to me to keep reading and talking and listening. If you’re even a little like me and have been blessed through transracial adoption, you need to read this.

Unfortunately, there are so many sad stories of black boys in particular who experience racism in the classroom. A friend’s AA son goes to a predominately white school, and he is always in the hall. When confronted by his parents, the teacher said, I just don’t know how to “deal with him”. My own nephew is always getting time out in class. The teacher even tried to say he had ADHD, but retracted the statement when my BIL wanted to sue to school LOL! It was a first yr teacher who hadn’t a clue.
It is SO rampant, it’s actually sickening, even more so when the kids notice it

Thanks for posting this. I love that website, but it can be so disheartening. I feel totally blessed by transracial adoption and want to do everything I can to help Lily to be secure and proud of who she is. It’s SO sickening that little kids already sense this.
